Temporal range: Middle Eocene
|Propalaeotherium hassiacum as it appeared in Walking with Beasts|
Propalaeotherium is a Palaeothere from early Tertiary Germany. Like many Palaeotheres, it scampered around through the dense jungles of the early Tertiary for grasses. This group of animals, Palaeotheriidae, may have given rise to all the other Perissodactyls (horses, rhinos, tapirs, brontotheres, and chalicotheres).
