Plotosaurus (meaning "swimmer lizard") is an extinct genus of mosasaur that lived in Fresno County, California during the Late Cretaceous period. Plotosaurus was about as hydrodynamic as this breed ever got, with a relatively, sleek narrow body and flexible tail; its unusually large eyes were also well-adapted for homing in on fish (and possibly other aquatic reptiles as well).

The Plotosaurus might've fed on the relative similar prey animals of its more fabled cousin, the Mosasaurus, such as feeding on smaller Mosasaurs, sharks, and large fish. Its large eyes were a beneficial trait to its hunting, and the Plotosaurus might've been able to hunt in deep water as well.
