Peloneustes was a genus of relatively small marine reptiles that belonged to the family of Pliosauridae. Peloneustes reached up to three meters (9.8 feet) in total body length and had a diet that consisted mostly of fish and shelfish, such as ammonites. Peloneustes lived throughout the Middle Jurassic Period in the seas that covered modern day Europe. Fossil specimen have been found in the Oxford clay formation of England.
