General facts

Longisquama is an Avicephalan from early Triassic Kyrgyzstan.  Scientists today believe that Longisquama is not directly linked to the evolution of feathers due to the structures on its back actually being elongated scales.

Description

Longisquama insignis is an extinct lizard-like reptile with feather-like structures extending from their backs, though different specimens have been found with different amounts of these appendages.
