Lacusovagus ("lake wanderer") is a genus of azdarchid pterosaur from the Early Cretaceous of Brazil. It is currently the largest known pterosaur from the Crato Formation, with an estimated wingspan of 4.1 meters (13 feet). It is unique among most pterosaurs in the fact that it has a toothless beak but no head crest. It was discovered in 2008.
In Popular Culture Edit
Lacusovagus appears in an episode of the BBC documentary Planet Dinosaur. It is unnamed in the episode, however, as it is only referred to as a chaoyangopterid pterosaur. It makes several minor appearances throughout the episode, often attempting to feed on Argentinosaurus, whether they are babies or deceased carcasses.
