Knightia was a bony fish found in freshwater lakes in Early Eocene of North America.This species was found in 1907 by David Starr Jordan.This fish was named in honor of Wilbur Clinton Knight,Wilbur was an student of the paleontology of the Rocky Mountains.

Because it was a schooling fish, it had many predators, such as Diplomystus, Mioplosus, Amia and many more.

As with modern day clupeids, it's likely this fish ate algae and diatoms.

The biggest Knightia was about 15cm long,but the most common size is 10cm long.
