Ceratopsia is a group of ornithischian dinosaurs that have large ledges of bone on the back of the skull that forms a crest that can be very extravagant in some species. Another distinguishing feature is a third part of the maxilla in front of the premaxilla that forms the tip of the beak called the rostrum. Many more derived species have horns on their skull and most have proportionally large heads in some cases taking up nearly a third of the body length.
