Temporal range: Late Jurassic–Late Cretaceous
| †Carcharodontosaurus saharicus|
Depéret & Savornin, 1925
Carcharodontosauridaes are generally large allosauroid theropods (With the exception of Carcharodontosaurids like Concavenator).
Mostly "huge", Carcharodontosaurids had several distinguished traits.
Most Carcharodontosaurids possessed slender teeth, suitable for slicing and gripping flesh. An example of a fairly unique Carcharodontosaurid would be Concavenator, which possessed a jump upon it's back. Indentations in the arm may have suggested that Concavenator and (possibly) other Carcharodontosaurids possessed quill like feathers on the arm.
